I have the honour to refer to previous correspondence respecting the question of the presence of one of His Majesty's Officers at the trial of prisoners surrendered by the Hongkong Government to the Chinese Government under the Extradition Ordinances.

I now enclose copy of a Despatch which I have received from His Majesty's Minister upon the subject, in accordance with the instructions contained therein.
