I have the honour to refer to previous corres-

pondence respecting the question of the presence of one of His Majesty's Officers at the trial of prisoners sur-

rendered by the Hongkong Government to the Chinese Govern-

ment under the Extradition Ordinances.

received from His Majesty's Minister upon the subject,
